Mass produced during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, pressed or pattern glass describes glass tableware which was manufactured by a process which pressed molten glass into molds. The matching table services consisted of numerous pieces such as creamers, sugars, spooners, celery vases, butter dishes, compotes, goblets, pitchers and many other functional items. These table sets were produced in hundreds of designs or patterns and have become a favorite of modern day collectors.
